Tour Diary

A Month of Working in The Studio… Now Back to Playing Live

We had a prolific month recording in Asbury Park on a new release and in our basement jam spot on some new demos. We’re still working on it all but now we’re ready to hit the stage again and try some new tunes out live… we’ll start off tonight in Asbury Park at Wonder Bar and then on to a busy month playing in NJ, NYC, and PA. Trevor recently did an interview with pop-break.com. He discussed some NJ rock scene particulars and a cowboy or two came up in the conversation. Read all about it here.

On to NYE

The holidays brought us hangovers and some good press. First, we we’re listed in Speak into My Good Eye’s top 27 albums; number 12, not too shabby. And, the last review of 2011 came from Nine Bullets. Our boy Hoss said some cool shit; you’re definitely gonna wanna check it out. Also, last week we got two doses of our good friend, Joe Roberto (of Joe Roberto and Poverty Hash). The holidays brought him to the East Coast and we were lucky enough to pin him down for some studio time and some stage time. In the picture you can see him at Stanhope House with the hot dance squad that he brought with him from Minneapolis. We can’t wait to get out there and see him this spring to see him on his turf. This Saturday we’re playing our first ever New Years Show. Come see us and Quimby Mountain Band at Triumph Brewery in New Hope, PA. Its gonna be a Party party. Details here.

Happy Holidays

We just uploaded a video. Its a new Xmas song from Joe. For those of you who are feeling as merry (and stressed out) as us, we hope you like it. If you’re looking to celebrate the holidays with whiskey and rock music and you’re in the NJ area, please join us on Xmas Eve Eve, Friday December 23rd at The Stanhope House in Stanhope, NJ. We’ll be singing happy birthday to Jesus with our good friends Quimby Mountain Band, Mike Esposito and, all the way from Minneapolis, the one and only Joe Roberto of Poverty Hash. All the details are on the facebook event page.

Burrrr

It was cold as hell last weekend. Our show at Krogh’s was as loud as always (we love their sound guy). Trevor almost caught pneumonia from sweating his ass off banging on the drums and then standing outside smoking cigarettes every chance he got – idiot.

We took this photo when we were hanging out with Maria Mar down at WRAT a few weeks back. We did an interview with her and chatted about how we met, how we got started playing in Asbury Park, and how we survive on tour.

Check it out on the JERSEY ROCK Radio Show page and any NJ bands that haven’t already, should definitely submit their music to be on her show. She supports NJ music like few others.

Back in the Studio

We have a show coming up at the Mercury Lounge in New York City this coming Tuesday.  All should be there.  But we decided to head back into the studio with producer Paul Ritchie [Parlor Mob] after we returned from North Carolina.  John at Retromedia took this picture of us tracking by standing on a on a ladder — after walking underneath it 14x. Black cats are not allowed in the space. A little bad luck never hurt anyone.

New music coming soon!  Are you excited?

To start the fall we played a couple shows in Pennsylvania.  Here is one of Joe from 9.23 at the Thought Lot in Shippensburg by Serino Photography.

We hope everyone likes our new website!  More news, announcements and posts to come!
